online-safety
  1. Never run a program that you didn’t specifically intend to install or use particularly if it ends with “.exe”.
  2. Avoid opening spam email or attachments form unrecognised sources.
  3. When forwarding emails always use “Bcc” so that if a “viral” email is malicious it won’t be redistributed to all recipients and your contacts emails remain private
  4. Make sure your operating system is up-to date and that all “patches” and updates are installed.
  5. Run or schedule your anti-virus software to run at least twice a week.
  6. An average user will only install 1 line of defence to protect the system from malicious intrusions it is recommended that Anti-virus and another Anti-Malware or Spy-ware are used. Be sure to install a recommended defence as there are many “detectors” on the internet which actually are malware themselves.
  7. Clean your temporary files regularly to avoid system slow down.
  8. All the fans inside your system usually suck or blow dust onto other components we recommend to prolong the life of your system that you vacuum out the dust 3 monthly to avoid build up and heat damage. Be careful not to touch components with the vacuum cleaner just let the airflow suck the dust.
