  1. Never run a program that you didn’t specifically intend to install or use particularly if it ends with “.exe”.
  2. Avoid opening spam email or attachments form unrecognised sources.
  3. When forwarding emails always use “Bcc” so that if a “viral” email is malicious it won’t be redistributed to all recipients and your contacts emails remain private
  4. Make sure your operating system is upto date and that all “patches” are installed.
  5. Run or schedule your anti-virus software to run at least twice a week.
  6. An average user will only install 1 line of defence to protect the system from malicious intrusions it is recommended that Anti-virus and another Anti-Malware or Spyware are used. Be sure to install a recommended defense as there are many “detectors” on the internet which actually are malware themselves.
  7. Clean your temporary files regularly to avoid system slow down.
  8. All the fans inside your system usually suck or blow dust onto other components we recommend to prolong the life of your system that you vacum out the dust 3 monthly to avoid build up and heat damage.
  9. Any files that you download regardless of the source should be scanned using recommended AVG Anti-Virus software.
  10. If using a wireless device/router please remember that any additional devices will slow down the service
  11. When using the windows Small office network feature Microsoft recommend to a maximum of 4 machines then run a dedicated server
